BAKER FAMILY PASTURES

Pastured poultry & gRASS-FED CATTLE farm in hillsboro tennessee
Baker Family Pastures

Baker Family Pastures produces the highest quality grass-fed beef and pastured poultry for our Middle Tennessee community. We know how important it is to feed families with nutrient-dense, clean meat. Our regenerative farming practices support a healthy ecosystem for future generations.

Our Story

Baker Family Pastures has been in the Baker family since the mid 1850s. As was unfortunately common practice, the land has been beaten down by past farming methods. We are determined to restore the soil and the land’s ecosystem by utilizing regenerative practices.

Kara and Luke Baker own and operate Baker Family Pastures. After living in Georgia and working on a local pastured poultry operation, we learned that regenerative farming practices create high quality soil, as well as nutrient-dense food. We saw an opportunity to restore our family land with these practices, and moved to Hillsboro in early 2021.

We will be offering both pasture-raised chicken and 100% grass-fed pasture-raised beef. By moving the chickens and cows daily, we are restoring the fertility of the soil naturally, without compromising the surrounding ecosystem with chemicals and synthetic fertilizers.

Pasture-Raised Chicken

Pasture-Raised Chicken

Our chickens are fed certified organic feed and moved to fresh pasture each day, allowing them to forage for grass and insects. This varied diet ensures a healthier, more nutrient-dense chicken.

Forest-Raised Pork

Forest-Raised Pork

Our pigs are fed non-GMO feed and are moved frequently through the woods to feast on acorns and such.

100% Grass-Fed Beef

100% Grass-Fed Beef

Our Red Devon cattle herd are moved to fresh paddocks daily and consume a grass-only diet from start to finish. We are currently growing our herd, so beef won’t be available until Fall 2022.
